Business Credit & Fundability
Work with a business credit consultant to build a profile under your EIN, in the order the bureaus and lenders actually read it.

What a business credit consultant actually does, and in what order
Business credit is not personal credit with an EIN typed in the box. It is a separate reporting system with its own bureaus, its own scores, and its own entry requirements, and almost every failure we see is a sequencing failure rather than a credit failure.
The three bureaus that matter are Dun and Bradstreet, which issues the PAYDEX score from 0 to 100 where 80 or higher signals consistent on-time or early payment, Experian Business with the Intelliscore Plus from 1 to 100 where 76 or higher sits in the low risk band, and Equifax Business, which builds business credit risk and business failure scores alongside the others. None of them will score a business that has no reporting tradelines, which is why the ladder exists: Tier 1 net-30 vendor accounts that report to D and B without a personal guarantee, then Tier 2 store and fleet cards, then Tier 3 bank-issued business cards and lines. Skipping tiers is the most common way to collect denials that sit on the file.
Before any of that, six things have to be true: the entity is filed and in good standing, the federal EIN is issued, a dedicated business bank account is open, the business address is verifiable, the business phone is listed under the entity name, and a free D-U-N-S number is registered with D and B. And they have to match each other exactly. The legal name, the suite number, the spelling, and the punctuation must be identical across the Secretary of State record, the IRS EIN letter, the bank signature card, and the D and B profile. One abbreviation out of place sends a real application to manual review. Consulting is us checking all of that before you spend a dollar applying for anything.
Business credit is a process, not a shortcut. Applying early does not speed it up, it just puts denials on the file.
Who this is for, and who should pick something else
Score Pros qualifies hard on purpose. Being sent to the right service beats being sold this one.

- Own or are forming a real operating entity, not a shell
- Want business obligations to live under the EIN rather than the SSN
- Are building business credit from a standing start and want the order right
- Care about being fundable later more than being approved for something small today

Your personal credit is the real bottleneck right now
Tier 3 business credit still usually requires a personal guarantee. If the personal file is the constraint, fix that first and the business build gets much shorter.

How it runs, step by step
What happens at each stage, and what lands in your hands. Bureau investigation windows are set by the FCRA, not by us, and no outcome or timeline is guaranteed.
-
Free Credit Clarity Session
We start on the personal side, because Tier 3 bank credit still typically requires a personal guarantee, and a damaged personal file will cap the business build no matter how clean the entity is. Then we look at the business: what it is, how long it has operated, what it banks, and what it is actually trying to fund.
What you see
A live 3-bureau personal review plus a first read on where the business currently sits.
-
Foundation audit against the six must-haves
Entity in good standing, EIN issued, dedicated business bank account, verifiable business address, business phone listed under the entity, free D-U-N-S registered with D and B. Then the matching check: identical legal name, suite, spelling, and punctuation everywhere it appears. This step is unglamorous and it is where most files are quietly broken.
What you see
A written foundation checklist with each of the six marked done, missing, or mismatched, plus the exact fix.
-
Personal readiness, handled honestly
If the personal file has inaccurate, outdated, or unverifiable items worth challenging, that work runs under the FCRA the same way it does for any other Score Pros client. If the personal file is accurate and simply needs time and structure, we say that instead of selling you a dispute campaign that was never going to help.
What you see
A clear split between what is being challenged on the personal file and what is being built around.
-
The tradeline ladder, sequenced
Tier 1 net-30 vendors that report to D and B without a personal guarantee, opened and used deliberately so there is real payment history to report. Then Tier 2 store and fleet cards once enough Tier 1 accounts are reporting. Applications spaced roughly two to three weeks apart, because clustering them looks exactly like distress to an underwriter.
What you see
A written vendor sequence with what to open, roughly when, and what each account needs to do before the next step.
-
Profile monitoring and gap filling
Not every vendor reports, and a vendor that does not report is a bill you paid for nothing. We check what is actually landing on the D and B and Experian Business profiles, replace the accounts that never showed up, and watch PAYDEX and Intelliscore move as history accumulates.
What you see
Periodic profile checks, a list of which accounts are reporting, and replacements for the ones that are not.
-
Positioning for Tier 3 and funding
When the profile is scoring and the foundation is clean, the conversation turns to bank-issued business credit and funding preparation. We prepare and position. We do not promise amounts, and no funding outcome is guaranteed. If the right next step is the hands-on Accelerator program on the Score Pros Biz platform, we will say so.
What you see
A readiness read on Tier 3, and a straight recommendation on whether to continue solo or move into the Accelerator.

What changes for you
Not a score prediction. These are the things the work is designed to put in your hands. Results vary by file, and no outcome or timeline is guaranteed.
The entity stops looking unscorable
A filed business with no D-U-N-S, no listed phone, and no reporting tradelines is invisible to the business bureaus. The foundation work is what makes the file exist at all.
Applications stop being guesses
You apply for the tier your profile can actually support, spaced properly, instead of collecting denials that stay visible.
Your records match each other
Same legal name, same suite, same spelling on the state filing, the EIN letter, the bank account, and the D and B profile. This is the cheapest fix in business credit and the most commonly skipped.
You understand what you are building toward
PAYDEX at 80 or better, Intelliscore Plus at 76 or better, several Tier 1 accounts reporting, clean bank history. Targets, not promises.
Questions about business credit & fundability
The ones people actually ask on the first call, with the answers we actually give.
What is a D-U-N-S number, and do I have to pay for one?
It is the nine digit identifier Dun and Bradstreet uses to open a file on your business, and it is free directly from D and B. Paid expedited options exist and are almost never necessary. Without a D-U-N-S there is no D and B file, and with no D and B file there is no PAYDEX score for a vendor to report into.
What is a good PAYDEX score?
80 or higher is the number to aim at. PAYDEX runs from 0 to 100 and it is driven by payment timing on reporting tradelines, so paying early rather than merely on time is what moves it. It is also why a business with no reporting tradelines has no PAYDEX at all rather than a low one.
Will my Brex or Ramp card build my business credit?
Not on its own. Those products do report some commercial tradelines, but they underwrite primarily on your cash flow rather than on a credit profile, so a business whose only credit is a fintech charge card tends to keep a thin file with no revolving trade history for traditional lenders to score. Use them for float and expense control. Build the profile on the vendor ladder.
Do I need an LLC, or will a sole proprietorship work?
A sole proprietorship has no separation, so the obligations land on you personally and there is no real entity file to build. A filed LLC or corporation in good standing, with its own EIN and its own bank account, is what makes a separate business credit profile possible in the first place.
Does business credit mean no personal guarantee?
Sometimes, and less often than the internet suggests. Tier 1 net-30 vendor accounts generally do not require one. Tier 2 varies. Tier 3 bank-issued business cards still typically require a personal guarantee even with a strong business profile, which is exactly why we start on the personal side.
How long does this take?
The foundation can be sorted quickly. The profile cannot, because scores are built from payment history and history takes months to accumulate. A realistic build runs from foundation, to D-U-N-S and the first net-30 accounts, to a stack of Tier 1 accounts reporting, to Tier 2, to Tier 3 over several months. Results vary by business, and no timeline or funding outcome is guaranteed.
Do you sell tradelines, shelf corporations, or aged entities?
No. We do not sell tradelines, we do not sell or recommend shelf corporations or aged entities, and we do not work with anyone who does. Those approaches misrepresent the age and history of a business to a lender, and that is a problem you do not want attached to your file.
Can you promise I will get funded?
No. We prepare and position the business so it is fundable and readable. Approval, amount, and terms are the lender decision, and they weigh revenue, time in business, deposits, and industry alongside the credit profile. Any company promising a funding number before seeing all of that is guessing.
